Walter L. King, a resident of Park Ridge for 65 years, passed away on September 24, 2024 at the age of 97. He was married to the love of his life, Jean King, for 71 years and led a very full, active and healthy life. Walter served in the Navy in WWII, and he was privileged to participate in the Honor Flight in 2010. He retired at the age of 60 after a career in graphic arts and printing. He loved retirement, cooking, and enjoyed tennis, skiing, golf, archery and cycling. In addition to being a Chicago sports fan, he had a passion for painting and was a very talented artist. Walter loved his family and friends dearly and enjoyed traveling even into his 90's. He and Jean spent every New Year's holiday visiting his Tucson family and grandkids. His willingness to help others and his witty and wonderful sense of humor will be greatly missed. We are all so blessed to have many special memories to cherish. Walter is survived by his children Laura (the late George), David, Julie (Hank), Larry and grandchildren Henry (Dillon) and Rachel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Honor Flight Chicago .
