Vivian P. Courialis fell asleep in the Lord at the age of 98. She was born in Elia, Greece on April 13, 1926 to Andreas Katsonis and Evangelia Tsounakos as the oldest sibling to Anastasios Katsonis, Vasiliki Smyros, and George Katsonis. She led an accomplished life marked by courage, compassion and determination. Vivian completed a master's degree in nursing at the National University in Athens shortly after World War 2 and later embarked on a journey to the United States in pursuit of opportunity.  Throughout her life she remained deeply connected to her roots, actively participating in the Greek Community and supporting initiatives that promoted Hellenic culture.

Vivian's greatest joy came from her family. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Basil T. Courialis, and a loving mother to her children Telly Courialis and Eva Thomas. She took immense pride in her grandchildren Sean (Jennifer) Thomas, Ariana Thomas, Vasili (Carolyn) Courialis, Eirene Courialis and great-grandson Damian Thomas. Vivian leaves a remarkable legacy. Her memory will be cherished by her friends and family.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 1401 Wagner Road, Glenview, IL 60025 beginning at 9:30 am. Funeral Service to begin at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
