Varvara Phassos née Stiris, age 90, fell asleep in the Lord July 10, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Andrew Phassos. Caring mother of Patty and Gregory (Anastasia) Phassos. Loving grandmother of Andrew, Anna and George Phassos. Sister of Eleni (the late Jim) Droulias, Peter (the late Angeliki) Stiris and the late Georgia (the late James) Kostakis, Katina (the late Theodore) Katrakis and George Stiris. Aunt, great aunt, godmother and friend to many.

Her sense of humor, unselfishness and zest for life made her a friend to everyone who met her. She touched many lives and will be missed by all those who knew her.

Visitation Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 820 W. Talcott Road, Park Ridge, IL 60068. Funeral Service Monday, July 15, 2024, 10:00 a.m. at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2727 W. Winona Street, Chicago, IL 60625. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove, IL.
