Stathis Diamantonis, age 60, passed away November 16, 2023.  Survivors include his mother, Christine Diamantonis of Chicago, brother Loukas Diamantonis of Chicago, sister Joanna Diamantonis and brother in law Terry Harris of Tampa, FL.  He was preceded in death by his father Demetrios Diamantonis.

Stathis was a lifelong resident of Chicago and was a 1981 graduate of Mather High School.  He spent many years working as a chef/cook at restaurants in downtown Chicago.  Stathis delighted his family with new recipes and always enjoyed watching them taste his creations.  In his younger days he was a master mechanic and could be found tinkering on cars for hours.

He had a deep love for family & friends, his Greek heritage, music, and a soft spot for animals.  He was a kind and generous soul and will be dearly missed by friends and family.

Visitation Friday, December 1, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nelson Funeral Home, 820 West Talcott Road, Park Ridge, IL 60068. Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231.
