Sewellyn "Sue" (nee Randolph) Cate suddenly passed away April 14, 2015. She was born November 3, 1944 in Rensselaer, IN. She was the daughter of the late Joseph E. Randolph and Mildred (nee McDougall) Randolph Young. She was raised in Lafayette, Indiana and went to Longlois Elementary, Sunnyside Junior High, and graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1962.
She spent most of her adult life living and working in Chicago, IL. She worked in the field of property management supervising properties in Chicago, various cities in Southern and Western United States for various corporations throughout her career. She retired in 2014. She loved and enjoyed everything about Chicago, especially its culture diversity relating to food, music and people. She was an avid reader and passionate supporter and participant of civil liberty and equal rights.
She is survived by her mother and step-father, Fred Young of Lafayette, IN.; brother, J. Tyke Randolph (Cindy) of Coppell, Texas; former husband William Thomas Cate of Lafayette, IN.; son William Joseph (Megan) Cate of Culpepper, VA.; daughter Vicki Sewellyn Cate of Indianapolis, IN.; niece Torri (nee Stetler) (Dave) Beatty, Granger, IN.; niece Darci (nee Randolph) (Matt), Augustine, Grand Prairie, TX; nephew Tyke II Randolph (fiancé Vanessa Endquist), Bedford, TX; nephew Casey Randolph, OR; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and step-sister, Colleen (nee Young) (Tim) Lund of Hot Springs, AR. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Candace (nee Randolph) Stetler.
