IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandra R.
Nicholl
June 12, 1944 – August 31, 2021
On Tuesday, August 31, 2021 Sandy Nicholl passed away at the age of 77. Sandra Rose was born June 12,1944 in Chicago, Illinois to Norbert and Angeline (Olszewski) Strickrod.
She was a life long resident of Chicago and a Catholic, who attended parochial schools. She began her professional life as a legal secretary. She then took a position in the accounting dept at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago, where she also proudly volunteered in the infant ward. Her longest position was with the Teamsters, working as a claims adjuster at Central States Health Fund. She was still working there and had been for 42 years.
She will be remembered for her generosity, loyalty, love of animals, but her greatest joy was her grandson Connor, "Grammie's Sunshine". She spent her time caring for animals, particularly her beloved kitties Dottie and Lucy. She was a life long CUBS fan. She enjoyed shopping and Oldies Rock-n-Roll, especially The Beatles and Elvis. A favorite night out would be going to see a Beatles tribute band.
Sandy is survived her by daughter Kathleen (Sean) Haley, her son Tom Nicholl, grandson Connor Haley, sister Gerry McDonald and dearest friend Della Nicholl Roberts. She loved her friends and family very much. Which also included many nieces and nephews especially Kelly Walters and Kelly Roberts with whom she had a special bond. A funeral will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Nelson Funeral Home, 820 Talcott Rd in Park Ridge. Visitation begins at 3:00pm with a service at 7:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to an animal shelter or rescue. These causes were closest to her heart. Some of the organizations she supported were, Barb's Precious Rescue, ASPCA, PAWS Chicago, Tree House Humane Society for Cats, and Humane Society of the US.
