Rosemary J. Culverwell, nee Flashing, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on November 28, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul J. Culverwell, and the loving mother of Joanne, Mary, Janet (Kenneth) Ito, Nancy (the late Scott) Endre, and Amy. Rosemary was a cherished grandmother to Joseph, Michelle, Paul, Marie, Shannon, and Jimmie. She was also the dearest sister of Richard (Marge) Flashing and was preceded in death by her sister Jeanne (the late Carmen) Pesola. Rosemary was a fond aunt to many.

Rosemary dedicated her life to education, serving as the former principal of CPS Reilly Elementary School. Her passion for teaching left a lasting impact on the lives of countless students. She was known for her tireless dedication to the community and her unwavering commitment to education.

In addition to her professional pursuits, Rosemary was a devoted volunteer for Mary, Seat of Wisdom, demonstrating her commitment to faith and service. She had a vibrant social life, enjoying entertaining friends and family. Rosemary had a love for playing bridge and maintained a full calendar of social activities.

A proud member of her college sorority for over 55 years, Rosemary valued the bonds of sisterhood and friendship. She touched the lives of many as a friend, and her warm and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 820 Talcott, Park Ridge. Funeral Prayers will take place on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at Mary, Seat of Wisdom Church. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
