Roman "Romie" Anthony Foszcz of Chicago, Illinois passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Glenbrook Hospital, surrounded by his loving family members. Roman was born on August 8, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late Roman and Alice (nee Setlak) Foszcz.

Roman attended Gordon Tech High School and Benedictine University (St. Procopius College.) He worked for the Veterans Administration in the Chicagoland area for more than 25 years. He also worked as a chef for The Jolly Club, Chicago. A life-long Chicago Blackhawks, Cubs, and Bears fan, Roman was an avid reader, gardener, foodie, and cook. He was a member of the Chicago Ski Club and a proud and loving owner of his dogs, Dana and Gunther. Roman served as a lector at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Chicago for many years. He actively served the Special Religious Development (SPRED) program at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chicago
Heights, IL.

Roman was the loving husband of Catherine "Cathy" Foszcz (nee Bieski) who preceded him in death (1988). He is survived by his sisters Kathleen Foszcz of Glenview, Maria Foszcz of Chicago, his brother Martin of Chicago, his aunt Gloria Halse of the Quad City area, and many cousins. Roman was the loving godfather of Emily Chojnowski and Luke Anderson.

A visitation at St. Emily Catholic Church, 1400 E. Central Road, Mount Prospect, IL 60056 will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. Immediately following, a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Father Carlos Rodriguez will officiate. Burial will follow at All Saints Catholic
Cemetery, 700 N. River Rd., Des Plaines, IL 60016.
