Ray Johnson, 76 years young, passed away peacefully November 10, 2016. Ray is survived by his wife and amazing caretaker for 52 years Virgilus "Virgie" Johnson. Loving Dad to Debbie Hartman. Dad and best friend to Sherri (Daniel) Przybysz. Cherished Papa of Christina (Naseem) Akhter, Nicole (Roland) Fleck, Anthony Sudrzynski, Brittany (Chris) Jamnik and 5 great grandchildren.

Alumni of Lane Technical High School class of '58 and Glenview Naval Air Reservist. Ray had two successful careers he was a Typographer at A-1 Composition and a Reservation Sales Agent for Southwest Airlines. He was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed many trips to Hayward Wisconsin and Lake Erie-Ohio. When Ray's health slowed him down he took up watching the stock market and Chicago sports. He also enjoyed spending countless hours on his computer connecting with family and friends.

Despite having many health and physical challenges Ray smiled and preserved through them all. A celebration of Ray's life will be held Saturday December 3rd at noon. Ridgewood Memorial Cemetery Chapel 9900 N Milwaukee Ave, Des Plaines, IL. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family for a memorial fund in Ray's honor toward the Southwest Airlines Employees Catastrophic Assistance Charity.
