Engers, 82 of Des Plaines, passed away Dec. 14, 2011; U.S. Army Korean War Veteran; Beloved husband of Dolores nee Rasmussen for 56 years; dear father of Paul, Sharon (Bernard) Delaney, Scott, Kenneth (Julie), all of Des Plaines and Julie Friestedt of Indian Creek; loving grandfather of 8; great-grandfather of one; fond brother of Betty Hammerl of Buffalo Grove and Marilyn (Roland) Brandt of Wonder Lake; also survived by many nieces and nephews; preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 1 sister. Member of Our Lady of Hope Church and American Legion Post #382.

Visitation Sunday 4 to 7 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 820 Talcott Road (at Cumberland), Park Ridge.

Service Monday 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors at All Saints Cemetery.
