Peter Hiotis, age 73, "fell asleep" in the Lord on November 24, 2021. Peter was born in Leonidion,
Greece on July 21, 1948 to the late Emanuel and Metaxia (nee Kalogiani). Peter served as a merchant
marine for many years before migrating to the United States. As head chef, for over 35 years, Peter was a kind-hearted staple at Eppel's restaurant where he was passionate about creating delicious meals for Chicago's South Loop community—Peter loved and was loved by all his extended work family. Peter is survived by his beloved wife Mary Hiotis (nee Wagner). Peter was a loving father of Theodore (Kelly), Sam (Diane), and Joey (Natalie). Peter was the proud Grandfather of Melanie, Victoria, Grayson, Myles, Dinah, and Desmond. He was a dear brother of Nick Hiotis and Loula (the late Gianis) Mahara. Fond uncle to many nieces and nephews. Peter was proceeded in death by his niece Metaxia Hiotis. Peter will be greatly missed by all.

Visitation Wednesday December 1, 2021 from 4pm until 8pm at Nelson Funeral Home, 820 Talcott Road, Park Ridge, IL 60068.
Interment private.
