Pastor Walter C. Kalbhen, 89 of Chicago, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, May 8, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Hilda. Walter had devoted his life to Christ, having attended Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO, and then became ordained on July 26, 1959. He was a pastor at St. Michael Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chicago. Aside from being a friendly face and an enthusiastic minister at the pulpit on Sunday's, Walter also taught high school, specifically German and religion at Walther Lutheran High School in Melrose Park.

He is survived by his cousin Wilma Wieckert and dear friends Elaine, Robert, and Jennifer Zerwer, Lawrence "Larry" Paulsen, many other faithful parishioners, and fellow clergymen who were like family.
