Mynette F. Iehl (nee Warren), age 85, passed away on September 18, 2018. She is survived by her loving husband Charles, daughter Michelle Marrs, son Warren (Janice) Marrs, and step-children Bruce Iehl, Wayne (Sandy) Iehl, Linda (Roger) Bradley, Karen (Marty) Morse, Brian (Michelle) Iehl, and Nancy Baker. She was preceded in death by her son, Ramon Marrs. Mynette is also survived by 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her beloved pets Sally Ann, Sarafina, Rachel, and Papa.
Mynette was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the late Sarah and Crawford Warren. She was the oldest of four children, the late Arlene "Noochie" (Lambert "Junior") Jacobs, Joseph (Shirley) Warren, and the late William "Cap" Warren.
As a young woman, Mynette joined the U.S. Navy, where she met her husband, the late William Marrs. They were both medical students serving at the U.S Naval Hospital in Bainbridge, Maryland. After they were married, they were transferred to the Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia before heading to Great Lakes Naval Station.
Mynette's love of flowers encouraged her to become a Master Gardener at the University of Illinois Extension. She took great pride in her many gardens at her home in Belvidere. In addition, before moving to Belvidere, she studied for a time at Second City in Chicago.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 1 to 8 pm at Nelson Funeral Home, 820 Talcott Road, Park Ridge. Funeral Monday beginning at 11 am at the Funeral home. Interment will be at Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago.
