Michael J. Gorogianis

March 12, 1952 – February 4, 2022

Beloved son of John and Theresa (Majewski) Gorogianis

Loving father to Michael "Dash" Gorogianis, Jessica Gorogianis (Jen Villalpando),  and John Piehowski.  Dear brother of Joann (Bob) Cycon, Mary (Jack) Waldron, John (Nanci) Gorogianis and Mark (Kathy) Gorogianis.  Beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Mike began his long restaurant career with a small pizza place in Norridge, Illinois.  His work continued with such esteemed organizations as Grandma's Saloon and Deli in Duluth and Minneapolis, Lettuce Entertain Enterprises and the Italian Village in the Chicago area, and SCTV Diner in Toronto.

But his favorite restaurant was his own…The Spot Resort & Restaurant in Northern Wisconsin.  He was able to combine all the things he loved most…his family, great food and abundant outdoor adventures.  He could go hiking with his small children and chocolate lab during the day, create culinary masterpieces in the evening and then go down to the dock and a throw a line in when the restaurant closed.

He loved spending time with his family, and was a gifted storyteller happy to share adventures with old and new friends, his brothers and sisters, and his many nieces and nephews. Please share some of your stories either below or at the Memorial Service.   He will be missed by all.

Memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Nelson Funeral Home, 820 W Talcott Rd, Park Ridge IL 60068 from 12 to 5 P.M. Memorial Service 3:30 P.M.
