Louis Irwin Brough, 87, of Des Plaines, Illinois, passed away peacefully in his home on April 14, 2026.

Mr. Brough was born in Chicago as one of ten children to Verna and Randolph Brough. He married Kathleen (Kitty) O’shinski on June 23, 1962, and together they enjoyed 49 years of marriage.

Lou and Kitty were devoted parents to three children: Louis (Megan) of Park Ridge, Illinois; Thomas (the late Jennifer) of Scottsdale, Arizona; and Michael (Jody) of New Buffalo, Michigan.

He took great pleasure in spending time with his ten grandchildren: Maggie, Sarah, Jack, Sloane, Luke, Ezekiel, Lilah, Samuel, Elliot, and Amelia.

Mr. Brough will be remembered for his love of “Up North”, knack for repairs—though not always perfect—and his unique laugh.

Over the last ten years, Lou loved traveling and spending time with his companion Sara.

He was predeceased by his parents, wife, six brothers, three sisters, several beloved Oshinski family members and fond brother-in-law, Don Nahrstadt.
