Joseph Gielaski, age 76, of Chicago, formerly of Park Ridge, was received by The Lord on May 5, 2015, surrounded by family. Preceded in death by his parents William and Mildred; devoted husband for 54 years to Betty (Doudalis), his "Boo-Boo"; loving father of Billy, Scott, and Kristina (Pat) Gruno; proud grandfather of Scotty Jr., Xavianne, Steven, Aidan, Sammy, and Lily; dear brother of Shirley (Don) Grube; cherished son-in-law of Heidi "Yia-Yia" Doudalis; fond brother-in-law to Emily (Andrew) Knol and Lillian Doudalis and (Bob Aukers); dearest uncle to countless nieces and nephews. Visitation Friday, May 8 from 4 – 8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 820 W. Talcott, Park Ridge with a prayer service beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation will commence Saturday morning 10 a.m. at the funeral home with a procession to Union Ridge Cemetery for interment.
