Obituary

Jonathan Hector Perez, 44, of Chicago, passed away on September 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Jonathan was the beloved son of Hector Perez and the late Daisy Iglesias-Perez, brother to Natalie Perez, and cherished grandson of Hilda Iglesias. He was also deeply loved by his cousins, many of whom were far more like brothers and sisters to him, and by the many friends whose lives he touched along the way.

If you knew Jonathan, chances are he made you laugh. He was truly hilarious, the kind of person who could bring laughter into a room without even trying. He loved house music, If the right song came on, there was a good chance Jonathan was going to be dancing. Very few people had more pairs of glasses than Jonathan, I guess you could say he had an EYE for fashion.

He also adored his pets Mango, Rascal and Mamacita, who were an important part of his life and his heart.

Jonathan was preceded in death by his mother, Daisy Iglesias-Perez, whose loss was deeply felt by the entire family. There is comfort in imagining mother and son together again.

Forty-four years was nowhere near enough. But Jonathan filled those years with laughter, music, love, and memories that will live on in everyone who loved him.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. ♥️
