Born in Chicago on February 15, 1920. John passed peacefully to eternal life on May 22, 2014. Predeceased by his parents Martin and Delia Jennings, sister Margaret Delaney and brother Vincent Jennings.
He is survived by his loving wife, Frances; nine children John (Ellen), Kathleen (John) McGinnis, Maureen (James) Nerger, Nancy (Peter) Odon, Judith (Rick) Annes, Suzanne (Terence) Tracy, Patricia (Alexander) Hodge, Jeanne (Kenneth) Sadowski and Barbara (Robert) McGinn; nineteen grandchildren, two great-granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews. John served in the Army as a Staff Sergeant. He will be remembered as a loving man and friend to many. He shared his wonderful sense of humor with those around him, and taught us, through his example, the rich rewards of focusing on the needs of others, rather than on our own. The Jennings Family is grateful to the staff at Resurrection Life Center for the care they provided to John. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Rainbow Hospice. Visitation Monday, May 26 from 4 - 9 PM at Nelson Funeral Home, 820 Talcott Road, Park Ridge. Funeral prayers Tuesday 9:30 AM at the funeral home with a procession to Immaculate Conception Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
