James (Jim) Deeter, age 58, of Park Ridge, Illinois, died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 21, 2015. Jim was the loving husband of Anne, nee Petrowski, and the adored father of Meg and Tommy. He was the cherished son-in-law of Edward and Jean Petrowski. Jim is survived by his brother Walter Deeter; brother-in-laws Steve Petrowski (Barbara) and Jim Petrowski (Linda). He was the beloved uncle of Ken, Alex and Emily Petrowski; Dan, Catherine and Christopher Petrowski; and Jonathan and MacKenzie Deeter. Jim's loving parents, Walter and Phyllis Deeter, preceded him in death. Jim was born in Franklin, Pennsylvania and moved to Marion and Louisville, Ohio as a young boy. He was the "unofficial mayor" of every school, workplace and neighborhood he encountered. He befriended old and young alike; sure to use his infectious wit, endless stories and smiling eyes to bring a laugh and sense of joy to all he knew. Jim used his intuitive and keen "people skills" through his many years in sales in the software industry - serving as the Director of Business Development for Ultra Consultants at the time of his death. He was a respected and admired colleague to many. The visitation will be held Thursday, May 28 at Nelson Funeral Home, 820 Talcott Road, Park Ridge from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Words in celebration of Jim's life will begin at 7:00 p.m. Interment private.
