Gus Argires, 74, fell asleep in the Lord August 17th, 2024.

It is with profound sorrow we announce the passing of our cherished son of late Christos & Georgia Argires, husband, father, brother, cousin, friend and EVERYONE'S Uncle Gus.

Gus, born on Dec 20th, 1949, in a small village called Ahladokambos, Greece .. a place he never stopped calling home. He made his journey to the United States in 1966 where he built a life around his family. Though life proved to be challenging at times, Gus remained a beacon of love and kindness to the countless lives he touched. He was a source of comfort with his gentle, loving and humorous spirit with an unwavering sense of compassion, empathy and generosity.

In addition to the love he had for his family, horio, Asteras Soccer Team, impeccable passion for fashion and 'looking good' Gus had another great love .. Nature's Best Grocery Store. As cofounder of this small, family-owned fruit market, he dedicated his all to making this place a successful business in Westmont, IL for 28 years. Nature's Best took on his heartbeat and larger than life personality, leaving a lasting footprint on employees, customers and all who met him, long after his retirement.

Gus is survived by his "lovely' wife Alina Argires, 2 daughters Georgia Argires, Nicole Jordan (Adam) two grandchildren Xander & Demi.

Sister Panagiota Kazantzis (Gust) children Gina Mitroussias (Angelo) children Nicole & Paige.

George Kazantzis (Kathryn) children Dean, Christos, Alexander Christine Tsichlis (Gregory) children Nicholas, Peter

As well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom he loved dearly.

Visitation Saturday August 24, 2024 from 12noon to 4pm at Nelson Funeral Home 820 Talcott Park Ridge, IL 60068

Burial in Greece.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Gus' name to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated.
