George J. Pietrzak (June 12, 1938-January 31, 2023) – Loving husband of 57 years to Judy, father to Rose Carter (Stewart), Jennifer, and Becky Chacon (Miguel), grandfather to Audrey, Ava, Andy, and Adeline, brother to Roberta Wald, and uncle to Jerry Wald, ascended to heaven on January 31, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Pietrzak, brother William Pietrzak, and granddaughter Annie. An Air Force veteran who was a tool & die maker by trade, he was exceptional at fixing things, earned the reputation as "Mr. Fix It," and always lent a helping hand to his neighbors. He was a life-long learner who read multiple newspapers daily, enjoyed computers and gadgets, and enrolled in college courses covering a myriad of topics. He never met a stranger and spent his time after retirement looking for bargains at Menards or flea markets, being with his grandchildren, and walking his dogs at the park. He loved the color red, music and dancing, old musicals, John Wayne movies, cars, Big Red gum, and drinking reheated coffee. His signature style included plaid shirts with a pocket always equipped with a notebook and pen.
