Age 95, passed away August 6, 2022.  He was born in Anderson, SC on April 21, 1927.  He lived in East Lansing with his wife Donna and four sons from the mid 1960's to the late 1980's.  After Donna's passing in 1987, he remarried and moved to the Chicago area, living his remaining years in Park Ridge, IL.  He and his wife Kathy have been members of the Park Ridge Country Club.

Frank served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII.  After the war, he earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from Purdue University and an MBA and a PhD degree specializing in marketing from the University of Michigan.  While in East Lansing, he was a tenured professor at Michigan State University, where he taught statistics, marketing, and especially new product development.  Frank always had one foot in business consulting, and he conducted many marketing research and consulting projects for firms of all sizes, from small local organizations to large multi-national companies.  He also consulted with government officials, working on projects for two sitting governors of Michigan.  He wrote several books on new product development, and he created the Planned Innovation Institute, assisting many businesses in developing successful high-tech products.  Beyond his active professional life in East Lansing, Frank was the President of the Lansing Ski Club, and he served on the vestry of All Saints Episcopal Church. He was an active member of the Walnut Hills Country Club, and he was an avid pilot and golfer.

Surviving him are his devoted wife of 34 years, Kathy Bacon, and beloved sons Larry (and wife Sue) of Kalamazoo, MI; Chris of Santa Rosa, CA; Patrick (and wife Janet) of Denver, CO; and Don (and wife Kim) of Denver, CO; 10 grandchildren, Steve, Kristin, Samantha, Cassidy, Delaney, Alex, Aaron, Daniel, Emma, and Kate, one great grandson (Iain), and many nephews and nieces.
