IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward "Ted" Stephen
Donahue
April 5, 1949 – January 28, 2026
Ted, a lifelong resident of Park Ridge and parishioner of Mary Seat of Wisdom Catholic Church, passed away after a fall three weeks earlier. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, St. Louis University (BA), and Loyola University (MBA), and completed CPA studies. During his accounting career, he worked at a number of companies before retiring after a long tenure at Association for Retarded Citizens (ARC). In retirement, he took joy in the company of his fellow employees as he worked part-time at Walgreens.
His primary interests throughout his life, however, were his family, friends, art, music, dance, and photography. He was the long-time president/co-president and treasurer of the Fort Dearborn-Chicago Photo Forum and judge for the Chicago Area Camera Club Association. Early on, he became the “resident photographer” of Abiogenesis Movement Ensemble. He was dedicated to these organizations.
He maintained a deep and continuing interest in history and politics with an unrivalled talent to play the “Devil’s Advocate” in any argument. He was blessed with many decades-long friendships, regularly meeting for lunches, exhibits, shows, and trips; visiting those who no longer could visit him; and opening his home to family and friends who needed temporary quarters. For many years, he was the loving caretaker of his mother and grandfather, Charles J. Fahrner, Sr.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Thomas W. Donahue and Mary Fahrner Donahue. He is survived by two sisters, Margaret Donahue (William Collinge) and Nora Smith (Spencer), nephew, Brennan Tigner (Nicole), niece, (Kelly Smith), and sixteen cousins. All will miss his deep caring nature and quirky sense of humor and the absurd.
A Memorial Service is pending, and will be announced at a later date.
