IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward A.
Curtis
January 14, 1945 – March 9, 2022
Edward A. Curtis "Ed", 77, loving father of the late Joseph; proud grandfather of Stephanie (Chris) Curtis; caring brother of Margo Rodriguez; devoted father-in-law of Shelley Crozier; treasured friend of Tom and Diane Codilis and Betty Bieber Ginsberg; and caring neighbor of the Baron family.
Ed started his career in police work with the Chicago Police Department in the late 1960s before becoming a Cook County Sheriff and a US Marshall. He was able to retire after 30 years as a Lieutenant with the Sheriff's department. Ed was a community minded man who was heavily involved in the Emergency Response Team (E.R.T.) of Park Ridge, the Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, the Greater Chicago Food Depository, and St. Joseph Charities in New Mexico. He was known for his range of hobbies that included gardening, stock car racing (he took home quite a few trophies), and 5 years in a row as the winner of the Chicago Police Olympics in the weight lifting category. Ed was a delightfully surly and cantankerous man, with dry humor and an incredibly loving and giving soul. He will be deeply missed.
