Edgar Daryl Preissner, 86, of Park Ridge, Illinois, died peacefully on November 2, 2024. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, graduated from Albert Grannis Lane Technical High School, Northwestern University, University of Wisconsin and the University of Chicago. Ed spent a career in environmental engineering and municipal water management, and constantly fixed things around the house.

He was, is, and forever will be loved by his family. Ed was the beloved husband of Waldtraut Preissner, née Benz; loving father to Paul (Cathleen Mulcahy) and Karl (Erin Heidrich); wonderful grandfather to Amelia and August; dear brother of Raymond and the late Alfred; joyful uncle to Eric and Curt; and cheerful great-uncle to Max, Kate, and Wilson.
