Dorothy Rafanelli

Dorothy Marie Rafanelli, nee Vistine; Born February 7, 1929 in Chicago, at rest December 23, 2025 at the age of 96; beloved wife of 64 years to the late Robert S. Rafanelli; loving mother of Robert J. and Richard E. Rafanelli; cherished Nonne of Anna, Cara and Robbie; dearest daughter of the late Libbie and Emil Vistine; loved sister of the late Gladys (the late Ted) Zwierczyk; aunt to many special nieces and nephews in her life who gave her much love and happiness.

Dorothy’s life revolved around the joy of family and friends. She and her husband, Bob, lived in the neighborhoods of Chicago where they formed lifelong friendships before moving to the Oak Brook Club. Dorothy became the longest resident of Building 4 having lived there for 50 years.

Dorothy and Bob were also long time members of Riverside Golf Club and Rancho Mirage Country Club in California. She so enjoyed her golf and meeting new friends.

The family would like to thank the caregivers who provided her with such wonderful care in her later years. You became like family to her and she loved you all.

Lying in State, Monday, January 12, 2026 at Visitation Catholic Church 799 S. York St., Elmhurst, Illinois 60126, from 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Mass begin at 10:00 a.m. Internment will be held private at St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove, IL at a later date.
