Christopher S. Fierce, 61, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024.  Born with Down Syndrome on October 1, 1963, he was the middle child of Russell E. and Lorraine B. Fierce (nee Beecher) who predeceased him.  Christopher most recently resided at Clearbrook in Rolling Meadows, IL.  Chris had a loving and kind personality and enjoyed being around people.  He was always willing to help out at his residences with anything, though he enjoyed vacuuming the most.

He initially lived at Misericordia in Chicago, IL and later at the Lincoln State School in Lincoln, IL.  In 1976, he moved to the Ann E. Kiley Development Center in Waukegan, IL, where he was a member of Boy Scout Troop 17, established by his father.  He graduated from the Waukegan School District in 1984 and then worked for the Kiley Supported Employment Program on their ground crew.  He also participated in the local Special Olympics several times.

He moved to Avenues to Independence in Park Ridge, IL in 1998 to be closer to his family and while living there enjoyed bowling, eating out, going for walks, bird watching and parties with his fellow residents and staff.  He also attended the daily Avenues to Independence workshop.

Chris is survived by his brother Russell B. Fierce (Maricel) and his sister Gayle L. Fierce.  Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am followed by the Funeral Service at The Orchard Barrington, 1301 South Grove Avenue, Barrington, IL 60010. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Skokie, IL.
