Carol Ann Regner

Carol Ann Regner (nee Ewerts), age 80, of Park Ridge, Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, on February 22, 1946, Carol Ann was the cherished daughter of the late Frieda (Goodyear) and Charles Ewerts. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Carol Ann attended high school at Longwood Academy in Chicago before earning her bachelor’s degree in English literature from Loyola University Chicago, cultivating a lifelong passion for reading. Early in her career, she brought her creativity and sharp eye to Marshall Field’s, working in advertising. Later, she dedicated many years to District 64 as a lunch mother, substitute teacher, and teacher’s aide, where her warm spirit and love for children and learning left a lasting impression on countless students and colleagues.

Beyond her professional life, Carol Ann found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed surrounding herself with beautiful flowers or testing her quick wit while watching Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune. Above all else, her greatest devotion was to her family. She was the dear wife of LeRoy, with whom she shared 44 wonderful years of marriage. She loved watching her son, Lee, participating in his favorite activities, whether on the baseball field or in the Notre Dame Drumline. Her greatest joy in recent years was being Grammie to her beloved grandchildren, Charlie and Emma, whom she adored more than anything in the world.

Carol Ann is survived by her loving husband, LeRoy; her devoted son, Lee; her daughter-in-law, Jacqueline, whom Carol Ann loved as her own daughter; and her most cherished grandchildren, Charlie and Emma.

Visitation, Tuesday, September 29, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Closing Prayers, Wednesday, September 30, 9:15 a.m., Nelson Funeral Home, 820 Talcott Rd. Park Ridge, Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 a.m., St. Paul of the Cross Church. Interment to follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery.
