Betty E. McBride
June 5, 1931 - September 13, 2016
Betty McBride passed away peacefully, in her sleep, at home on Tuesday, September 13, 2016. Born in Kingston, Ontario, Canada she was a loving wife to Harry McBride for 44 years until his death in January 1999. Together they moved from Montreal to Rome, Paris and eventually to the Chicago area. Throughout her adult life, Betty found her calling in serving God through The Salvation Army. She touched the lives of countless women through The Salvation Army's Home League program and blessed the Norridge Citadel congregation with her inspirational writings in a weekly prayer journal for almost 15 years. She is survived by her two children, Pete (Dorothy) McBride and Blythe (Jack) Marinelli and four terrific grandchildren, Peter, Kelly, Morgan and Stephanie. She was their inspiration, their confidante, their cheerleader and lifted each one of them up in prayer every single day. In addition, she is survived by her two brothers, Bill Anglin and Bob Anglin, and many nieces and nephews. She showed us all how God "cares deeply for all of the circumstances that affect you and those you love."
