Obituary

Ann Chuchut Butler, resident of Edison Park since 1951, passed away May 14, 2013. She was born on September 24, 1920 in Chicago, IL. Ann attended Carl Schurz High School, Wright Jr. College and Columbia Business College earning her Associates Degree in Accounting. She serviced as Secretary to the Finance Officer of the City of Park Ridge for 28 years and retired in 1991. An avid classical music enthusiast, she studied violin with Eduard and Joseph Dorazil at the Cosmopolitan Conservatory and with Perry Crafton, first violinist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. She received orchestral training in the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, under John Weicher and Francis Akos. She toured the U.S. professionally with Bohumir Kryl Symphony for two concert seasons, played with the Rockford Symphony, and many other area orchestras. She played with the Northwest Symphony Orchestra since 1956 and served as President and Board member. She also devoted much time to chamber music and organized a string quartet which performed at area libraries, churches, receptions and weddings. She attended the adult chamber music workshop annually at Interlochen, Michigan and performed for master classes. Retired from business, she enjoyed her music and returned to another favorite pursuit, art. She was a scholarship student at the Art Institute of Chicago. Ann was preceded by her parents, Stefan and Ludmilla (Salajka) Chuchut; a sister, Mildred Chuchut.
Ann is survived by her sister, Lillian (Heminover), daughter, Betty A. Wulf-Rice (Frank Rice) of Beloit, WI, son, Oran L. (Kathy)Butler of Carol Stream, IL; four grandsons, Todd (Tammy) Wulf, Scott Wulf, Brian (Jen) Butler, Matt Butler; seven great-grandchildren, Kyle (Randi) Wulf, Ashley Wulf, Hunter and Jackson Wulf, Hannah Wulf, Maya Butler and Tyson Butler; great-great-grandaughter, Parker Wulf; nephews, Dale (Connie) Heminover, Steve Heminover; niece Jane (Bill) Heminover Schoenbeck; nieces, nephews, cousins and special cousin, Chuck Michalek.
Visitation Thursday from 3 to 9 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 820 Talcott Road, Park Ridge. Service Friday 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment Acacia Park Cemetery.
