IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Allen
Dummler
January 12, 1938 – September 24, 2024
Al was born in Chicago where he attended Steinmetz high school and lived until meeting his wife of 61 years, Patricia. They moved to Park Ridge and had two sons: David Dummler with wife Lee Ryniec-Dummler, and Scott Dummler with wife Karen Leick and grandchildren Henry and Paige. He was also the beloved brother of Barbara Baehr with husband Rich Baehr and beloved uncle to Ryan Baehr, Jennifer Keppner, Jillian Earnest and Jeremy Dummler.
For most of his professional life, Al worked in the lumber business, starting Allenton Lumber in Elgin, Illinois before moving to Hampshire. In his spare time, he was a devoted member of his church, and loved to collect and show antique Cushman motor scooters, Mercury automobiles, and especially antique International-Harvester tractors. The tractors were an interest borne out of his time spent at his mother's family dairy farm in Timberland, Wisconsin.
He traveled extensively throughout his life: from Africa to Alaska and many points in between and performed on stage at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. His laugh was world famous and until his last days, his personality left everyone around him feeling warm and full of humor. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
