Bergen, age 68 of Niles; Beloved son of the late Josephine and James; loving brother of Jim (Pat) and the late Carol; fond uncle of Kathy, James and Michael; caring great uncle of Josie; Lifelong friend of the Link family; Attended Our Lady of Mercy grade school and St. Patrick High School in Chicago; teacher at Von Humboult school for 35 years. Visitation Thursday 3-9 pm at Nelson Funeral Home, 820 W. Talcott, (at Cumberland) Park Ridge and funeral Friday 9:30 am from the funeral home to Mary, Seat of Wisdom Church Mass 10am. Interment private.

To the family of Ken, he was truly a gentleman and scholar. Ken was one of the first people to befriend me when I came to Von Humboldt. I never saw him disrespect a child or an adult. He talked fondly of his mother every chance he got. He never complained about having to take care of his mother, it was a privilege he would say. Von Humboldt's Graduations won't be the same without him. He did it his way and did it well.

When I think of Jim's Uncle Kenny I smile. He was warm and kind. The loving way he took care of his mother left an impression on my heart. I am truly thankful that my daughter, Josephine, is part of the Bergen family. May God bless Kenny and all those who love him.
